BIOGRAPHY
Hyunjin (현진 hyeonjin) was born on March 20, 2000 in Seoul, South Korea. When he was six years old, he moved to Las Vegas with his family and lived there under the American name 'Sam'. Two years later he returned to South Korea with his family. He is an only child but grew up with his dog Kkomi. Since he turned 16, he has had a new dog named Kkhami, who appears more often in his vlogs.
Young Hyunjin was cluelessly shopping around Seoul with his mother when he caught the eye of a JYPE employee who asked him if he would be interested in becoming a trainee. He joined JYPE in 2015 without ever dancing, rapping or singing and trained there for two years. Hyunjin was initially heavily criticized for his dancing skills, but the other trainees inspired him to work even harder. In addition to the already tough training at JYPE, Hyunjin also took dance classes in various dance styles at the School of Performing Arts (SOPA).
On October 11, 2017, JYPE announced the survival show “Stray Kids”. In the show, Hyunjin was introduced as a dancer and rapper of the “Male Group Project”. The “Male Project Team” was special from the start because, unlike most other K-pop groups, it was not formed by the agency. Instead, trainee Bang Chan himself had put together the team of nine members in total. The members were: Bang Chan , Lee Know , Han , Changbin , Felix , Hyunjin, Seungmin , I.N and Woojin.
In the last episode of the Survival Show on December 19, 2017, it was announced that this very group that he put together would also make its debut. However, in October 2019, Woojin left the group for unknown reasons.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
In his career as a dancer and rapper in the up-and-coming and charismatic group “Stray Kids,” Hyunjin and his members achieved several milestones and surpassed themselves with each comeback. Since the list of their successes is very long, we have recorded some of the most important milestones for you here :
- As of August 2021, her album Noeasy has sold over 1,127,800 copies. This was the first time that Stray Kids and a group from the JYPE label broke the million mark.
- In March 2022, her album ODDINARY reached number 1 on the Billboard 200 charts for the first time.
- In August 2022, Stray Kids became the third Korean band to reach 10 million subscribers on YouTube, after BTS and BIGBANG.
- In October 2022, Stray Kids reached number 1 on the Billboard 200 charts for the second time in a row with MAXIDENT.
- In June 2023, Stray Kids reached number 1 on the Billboard 200 charts for the third time in a row with the album 5-STAR. They also broke the record for the most pre-ordered album in K-pop history at the time of its release.
- In November 2023, Stray Kids reached number 1 on the Billboard 200 for the fourth time in a row with their album ROCK-STAR. "LALALALA" also became their first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 charts at number 90.
DISCOGRAPHY
Hyunjin has already released a few solo songs that he wrote and co-produced on the SKZ-Replay album. However, his biggest milestone to date was being featured on the song "Rush" by Troye Sivan. He was already a big fan as a trainee and sang his songs at the monthly evaluation at JYPE. The two met in March 2023 at the Versace Fashion “La Vacanza” and they released the joint remix in August.

SONGWRITING CREDITS
As of March 2023, Hyunjin is officially registered with KOMCA (The Korea Music Copyright Association) with 25 songs. Hyunjin wants to focus more on writing songs. He composed the song “Cover me” from the 2023 album ROCKSTAR together with Bang Chan.
FILMOGRAPHY/ VIDEOGRAPHY
Since Hyunjin is best known for his talent as a dancer, it's no surprise that the official Stray Kids YouTube account features some of his dance videos that he choreographed himself. He could also be seen live on VLive and YouTube from time to time with the formats 'Hyunjin's Practice Room' and 'Hyunjin's Counseling Center'. Today, however, he prefers Instagram to interact live with his fans. Hyunjin was the official host of “Show!Music Core” from Episode 644 - 713. However, his highlight so far for us would be that he was selected by STUDIO CHOOM as Artist of the Month for October 2021. His performance is one of the most successful in this format and has already been clicked 43 million times.

On July 20, 2023, Hyunjin was named global brand ambassador for Versace. This was big news as he is the first fourth-generation male idol to receive this honor.Hyunjin has often graced the cover of fashion magazines along with his band members. Hyunjin is friends with Younghoon (TheBoyz) , Bomin (Golden Child) and Daehwi (AB6IX) and regularly posts short dance videos with other idols, such as Taemin (Shinee) on TikTok and Instagram.
