PRE-DEBUT

ILLIT (아일릿; auch :ll:+) ist eine Girlgroup bestehend aus fünf Mitgliedern: Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, und Iroha. Unter dem Label Belift Lab, einem Sublabel von Hybe haben sie sich bereits früh einen Namen gemacht und feiern große Erfolge. 

Die Gruppe entstand durch die JTBC Reality Show “R U Next?”. Am 1. Juni 2023 starteten JTBC und Belift Lab die Dreharbeiten für die neue Sendung mit dem Ziel, die nächste Girlgroup der Agentur zu gründen. Die Teilnehmerinnen wurden über sieben Runden hinweg bewertet. Am 30. Juni 2023 wurde die Premiere von "R U Next?" ausgestrahlt. Das Live-Finale fand am 1. September statt. Die Mädchen, die unter den ersten sechs platziert waren, durften in der Girlgroup ILLIT debütieren. Wonhee erreichte insgesamt den ersten Platz, gefolgt von Youngseo auf dem zweiten Platz, Minju auf dem dritten Platz, Iroha auf dem vierten Platz, Yunah auf dem fünften Platz und Moka auf dem sechsten Platz. Zwei der Teilnehmerinnen wurden von den Zuschauern gewählt, und vier wurden vom Label ausgewählt. Außerdem wurde angekündigt, dass die Gruppe im Jahr 2024 ihr offizielles Debüt haben wird. Die Social-Media-Konten der Gruppe wurden noch am selben Tag eröffnet.

Originally there were supposed to be six members, but Youngseo (pre-debut member) left beforehand due to contractual disagreements. The group debuted on March 25, 2024 with the mini album “Super Real Me”.

The girl group is known as I’LL-IT. The name comes from the phrase “I WIll Be It”. The fact that you can put any word between the words I'LL and IT underlines the message the girls want to get across, that you can be anything you want.

CAREER

Am 28. Februar trat ILLIT erstmals als Gruppe bei der Acne Studios-Show während der Pariser Fashion Week auf. Sie waren damit die erste K-Pop Band, die schon vor ihrem offiziellen Debüt bei dieser Veranstaltung auftrat. Eine Woche später, am 9. März, wurde die Tracklist für ihr Album "Super Real Me" veröffentlicht, mit "Magnetic" als Titelsong. Das Album umfasst insgesamt vier Titel, darunter neben "Magnetic" auch "My World", "Midnight Fiction" und "Lucky Girl Syndrome". Der offizielle Teaser für das Musikvideo ihrer kommenden Debütsingle "Magnetic" wurde am 22. März veröffentlicht.

"Magnetic" was the first debut single from a K-pop girl group to enter the global Spotify charts on the day of its release. On April 6, 2024, “Magnetic” even climbed to number 15 on the Spotify charts. Eight days after ILLIT's debut, "Magnetic" entered four US Billboard charts. ILLIT also became the first K-pop group to have their debut single enter the UK Official Singles Chart, peaking at number 80. On April 17, "Magnetic" reached number 11 on music streaming service Spotify's Top 50 Global Charts.

Am 16. April 2024 erreichte ILLIT den nächsten Meilenstein. Die Gruppe schaffte es mit ihrem Debütsong in die Billboard Top 100 Charts auf Platz 91. Dieser Erfolg machte "Magnetic" zum ersten Debütsong eines K-Pop-Acts, der es in die Hot 100 schaffte. Am 17. April wurde zudem das Musikvideo zum Song "Lucky Girl Syndrome" veröffentlicht und bereits ein paar Tage später, am 29. April überschritt das Mini Album “Super Real Me” die 500.000 Verkaufsmarke.
