BIOGRAPHY
Byeon Woo Seok (koreanisch: 변우석), geboren am 31.10.1991, ist ein südkoreanischer Schauspieler und Model. Er wurde in Seoul, Südkorea, geboren und wuchs dort mit seinen Eltern und seiner älteren Schwester auf. Dort studierte er Theater und Film.
CAREER
Byeon Woo Seok begann 2010 mit Modeln, absolvierte dann seinen Militärdienst und wurde im August 2013 entlassen. 2015 wurde er bei der Agentur YG KPlus unter Vertrag genommen und arbeitete weiter an seiner Modelkarriere. Er lief unter anderem für die “MUNSOO KWON S/S15” Kollektion über den Laufsteg.
Byeon Woo Seok began his acting career in 2016 as a supporting actor in tvN's television series "Dear My Friends". In 2019, he became the lead actor in JTBC's series "Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency". Just one year later, he took on another leading role in tvN's series "Record of Youth".
In 2021, Byeon Woo Seok was cast in KBS2's historical series "Moonshine", for which he won Best New Actor at the 2022 KBS Drama Awards. In the same year, Byeon Woo Seok was given the lead role for the first time in a film "20th Century Girl".
In February 2023, Byeon Woo Seok attended the press conference for the film "Soulmate," in which he also had a leading role. The film was released in 2023. Additionally, Byeon Woo Seok was cast as Ryu Si-o in the series "Strong Girl Nam-soon" as an antagonist in 2022. On July 19, 2023, he was given the lead role as Ryu Sun-jae in tvN's time-jump romance television series "Lovely Runner," which premiered in April 2024. The series' success made Byeon Woo Seok a national star and earned him the nickname "Nation's Boyfriend."
