SM Entertainment has just released the winter album "SMCU Palace" , in which all the artists of the agency are involved, and already the next big project is coming up. Just a few hours ago, SM super group "GOT the beat" announced their first comeback with the mini album "Stamp On It"!
We have already introduced you to "Girls On Top", the super girl group that gathers members from all SM entertainment groups. It consists of BoA, Taeyeon & Hyoyeon (Girls' Generation), Wendy & Seulgi (Red Velvet), and Karina & Winter (aespa).
Have you ever wondered why sometimes they say GOT the beat and sometimes Girls On Top? GOT the beat is officially considered a unit of "Girls On Top", GOT for short. Girls on Top is a project where female SM artists come together in different units. No other units have been announced yet, so we remain curious to see how the project develops.
GOT the beat debuted on January 3, 2022 with the single "Step Back." Almost exactly one year later, on January 16, the supergroup finally returns! This time, a mini album called "Stamp On It" will be released. It is the first mini album and also the first physical album of GOT the beat. So soon we will finally be able to flip through a photo book of the group!
We don't know too much about the album yet, except that it will be called "Stamp On It" and will be released on January 16. Also, how many songs are included has not been announced yet. However, since it is a mini album, we will definitely get more than one single this time! On the official Twitter account of Girls On Top, a poster, which probably shows the cover, has also already been released.

In fact, it went down almost exactly the same way last year. The artists of SM Entertainment released the joint album "SMCU Express" in the winter of 2021 and a short time later, before the end of the year, a release of GOT the Beat was announced. At that time, of course, it was about the debut of the girl group.
And that's not all the similarities!
The debut song "Step Back" was first performed at an SMTown concert on January 1, before GOT the Beat officially debuted later. This is also how it will go with the first comeback. On Jan. 1, the concert "SM Town Live 2023: SMCU Palace @Kwangya" will be held. There, BoA, Taeyeon, Wendy and the others will perform their comeback song for the first time, even before the release of the album. So we only have to wait a few more days for the first taste!
Step Back was a successful start for Got the Beat:
With the song, Got the beat won 3 trophies in music shows in January 2021, among others, and placed on the charts in Korea, as well as in Japan and the United States. For example, Step Back reached #17 on the Korean Gaon Streaming Chart, #15 on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100 Chart, and #5 on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart. He also made it to the Billboard Global 200!
