Last night, an announcement from SM Entertainment thrilled K-Pop fans around the world: Aespa will release a new album on July 8!

9 months after the first album “Savage”, which came out on October 5, 2021, there is finally a follow-up!
Of course, Aespa hasn’t been idle since then. In December, the girl group presented a remake of S.E.S.’s “Dreams Come True”, took part in the SM winter album “SMCU Express”, and Winter and Karina debuted in January 2022 in the supergroup “Girls On Top”! On April 23, Aespa sang a previously unreleased English song titled “Life’s Too Short” at Coachella, an annual festival in California. As we now know, it will be included on the new album!
On the girl group’s official Twitter and Instagram accounts, it was announced yesterday (in Korea it was already June 1) that Aespa is returning on July 8 with a new mini album called “Girls”. But that was far from everything! In addition, another song from the new album was teased: Illusion. For a few hours now, you can find an official lyric video for the song on YouTube and listen to it in full!
At the end of the month, “Life’s Too Short” will also be officially released as the second pre-release single. So far, there are only recordings of Aespa’s performance of the song at Coachella.
Here is the complete tracklist of “Girls”:
- Girls (title track)
- Illusion
- Lingo
- Life’s Too Short
- ICU
- Life’s Too Short (English Ver.)
- Black Mamba
- Forever
- Dreams Come True
As you can see, besides six new songs, including the two pre-release singles and the title track “Girls”, the album also contains three previously released singles. You can finally get the debut song “Black Mamba” on a CD to take home, too!
Looking at the success of Aespa’s releases so far, the new album will definitely be a hit! We’ll keep you updated!
