What do you think of the new Seventeen Lightstick?

Today the new version of Seventeen's Lightstick was released, called "Caratbong" like its predecessors, based on the fandom name "Carat". The first Lightstick came out in 2017 and version 2 in 2019.

Version 2 still enjoys great popularity today and is considered by many fans to be one of the most beautiful K-Pop Lightsticks ever. Even by those who don't know the boy band Seventeen well. Not without reason, because version two consists of a stick that shimmers in pink, blue and green. The headpiece is a glittering, transparent dome. Inside is a blue diamond on a pink base.

Seventeen fans love it not only because it looks so magical and classy, but also because the official fan colors "Rose Quartz" (pink) and "Serenity" (blue) are heavily represented.

How can you top that?

That's the question more than a few fans asked themselves when a new version of the iconic Lightstick was announced. The concept teaser uploaded to Youtube a few days ago was instantly the number one topic of conversation!

Version 3 is very similar to its predecessor in some respects.

A transparent dome sits on a shimmering rod, with a diamond perched on a Pedestal inside. However, the new dome is smooth and round and does not glitter. But it may make it look more elegant.

Fans discuss the colors the most: Diamond and pedestal are pink and the staff is black. Quite a few are disappointed because they were hoping to see the familiar fan colors again. In the comments on Twitter , the question why the stick is black is asked several times and one or the other even thinks that the Lightstick fits more with Blackpink than with Seventeen.

Although version 3 undoubtedly looks very chic, the majority agrees that it doesn't come close to version 2.
