Ever since Soojin left (G)I-DLE in 2021, fans have been wondering what the future holds for her. Although Soojin opened a personal Instagram account at the end of June, she has not given any hints about future activities so far.
The surprise was all the greater when a Korean news portal reported yesterday that Soojin is preparing for her solo debut! Her new agency BRD Communications confirmed the report about Soojin's solo debut and stated that an album is set to be released this year!
This news comes almost a year after Soojin last gave an official statement. Most recently, in September 2022, the singer announced that she had withdrawn her lawsuit against her former classmate. In 2021, the classmate had spread rumors that Soojin had bullied her at school.
These rumors ultimately led to Soojin leaving (G)I-DLE. To this day, however, the singer stands by her statement that the accusations are not true. Her fans are still standing behind her and are looking forward to her solo debut! We can hardly wait to see Soojin on stage again, too!
