There is hardly a K-pop fan who hasn't seen the film yet, and even viewers with no prior knowledge are met with great enthusiasm. Without a doubt, the K-pop genre has gained many new fans thanks to the fantasy adventure!
The film is about the three demon hunters Rumi, Zoey and Mira, who lead a double life as K-pop stars. The three form the extremely popular girl group HUNTR/X and use their songs to strengthen the shield that separates the human world from the demons. Of course, there is competition too: the five-member demon boy group “Saja Boys” goes up against HUNTR/X to prevent the demon world from being wiped out.
The two groups fight their battle mainly on stage: tracks like “Takedown”, “Soda Pop” or “Golden” decide the fight between good and evil. On top of that, they storm the charts - both in the film and in the real world.

KPop Demon Hunters was produced by Sony Pictures Animation and released by Netflix.
The tracks were produced by Teddy Park, among others, who has already worked for many YG stars such as Big Bang, Blackpink, Sunmi and 2NE1.
HUNTR/X songs are sung by the three solo artists Ejae (Rumi), Audrey Nuna (Mira) & Rei Ami (Zoey). The voices behind the Saja Boys are Andrew Choi (Jinu), Samuil Lee (Romance), Kevin Woo (Mystery), Neckwav (Abby) & Danny Chung (Baby).
The official soundtrack “Takedown” by Jihyo, Jeongyeon & Chaeyoung of Twice attracted especially a lot of attention in the run-up.
KPOP DEMON HUNTERS BREAKS RECORDS SET BY BTS AND BLACKPINK
KPop Demon Hunters is more than a film – it's a phenomenon. The soundtrack combines dark atmospheres with classic, cheerful K-pop and emotional stories. Although HUNTR/X and Saja Boys are only fictional groups, they can even measure up to K-pop legends like BTS!
With “Your Idol”, the Saja Boys became the first-ever male K-pop boy group to top the US Spotify chart, surpassing BTS as the highest-ranking boy group!
“Golden” by HUNTR/X landed at number 2, taking over from Blackpink as the highest-ranking K-pop girl group.
In addition, all 7 original songs from the film reached the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Even real K-pop groups rarely manage to get several songs from one album into the charts at the same time!
