Countless SHINee fans have been waiting for this moment for years: Minho has finally announced his first solo album! It's called “Chase” and you can pre-order it from today!
Not many details are known yet, except that there will be a standard version and a photobook version. A cover has already been uploaded on Twitter, though, and the release date has been revealed. The album will be released on December 12, just a few days after Minho's birthday.
Minho is the rapper of SHINee and has mostly been active as an actor as a solo artist so far. However, he has already released two solo singles: I’m Home (2019) and "Heartbreak” (2021). Ever since, fans have been longing for more!
Above all, with his solo album Minho completes the series of solo debut albums by the five SHINee members. The debut albums all have names that rhyme with each other, are designed the same way and have the same format!
Fans lovingly call it “SHINee Plagiarism”
Taemin was the first SHINee member to make his solo debut. He released his first album, titled “ACE”, in August 2014. The joke began when Jonghyun also made his solo debut in January 2015. He named his first album “BASE” and deliberately designed it exactly like ACE, to symbolize that SHINee stays together even when the members are out on their own. Taemin jokingly accused Jonghyun of plagiarism back then!
Key continued the tradition when he released his first solo album “FACE” in November 2018. And in December 2018, Onew followed with his solo debut album “VOICE”.

Precisely because Jonghyun, who passed away in December 2017, started this tradition, it is all the more important to the band and the fans to continue it.
Since then, fans had been waiting for Minho's solo debut, hoping that he would continue the tradition. They even speculated about what his album might be called: among the most popular theories were “SPACE” and “CHASE”.
And they were right! With “CHASE”, the series is finally complete this year.
