When Taemin was discharged from military service on April 3, a video titled TAEMIN IS BACK appeared on YouTube right away. Taemin's return marked the start of SHINee’s 15th anniversary celebrations! Fans are currently waiting for the fan meeting at the end of May, but today the boy group finally dropped hints about the long-awaited comeback as well and opened a mysterious Twitter account!
Let us bring you up to date:
Since April 3, Taemin has answered fans' questions in several YouTube videos and stressed how much he is looking forward to seeing them again soon.
SHINee Fan Meeting
In addition, SHINee announced a fan meeting at the end of April, which will take place on May 28. It is titled “Everyday is SHINee DAY: Piece of SHINE” and will also be livestreamed on “Beyond Live”.
It is the first time in two years that all the members of SHINee will be on stage together. Fans are understandably very excited and are doing everything they can to make it a great evening for all attendees.
They even made sure that the venue was changed. The original hall could not guarantee a good view of the stage for all visitors. Shawols, as SHINee’s fans are called, complained to SM Entertainment and even announced a boycott. The label responded to the complaints and booked a new location!
15th Anniversary
Since May 15, SHINee has been counting down on Twitter. The countdown will end on May 25, SHINee’s 15th anniversary. Yes, the boy group has been releasing one hit after another for almost 15 years now, and the members have also made a name for themselves as solo artists!
Photos and video messages are uploaded every day. It began with a nostalgic photo of SHINee from 2009. All five members can be seen in it, including Jonghyun.
SHINee Comeback in June?
Yesterday, a billboard poster at a cinema in Seoul got fans excited once again. Taemin, Onew, Minho and Key can be seen from behind, accompanied by the message: 2023 JUNE, SHINee IS BACK.
Fans assume that this confirms a comeback in June! It would be the first album from the beloved boy group in two years!
The most recent release was the Japanese mini album Superstar, including the single of the same name, on June 28, 2021. The last Korean album “Atlantis” was released on April 12, 2021. Fans already had to wait a long time for Atlantis and its predecessor Don’t Call Me (February 2021), because before that, Key, Minho and Onew were serving their military service.
Now that all four members have completed their military duty, we hopefully won't have to wait two years for a new album again any time soon!
MOMENT OF Shine
As if all that weren't enough, SHINee has also opened a new Twitter account today: @MOMENTOFShine
Under the title MOMENT OF Shine, posters of all the SHINee members were released today, along with a tweet in which the boy group invites their fans into the “Room of Light”. We suspect that this is a pop-up shop that will be open from May 25 until mid-June. What do you think?
We are curious what SHINee will present to us over the next few weeks. How much are you looking forward to the comeback?
