Red Velvet, NCT and more SM artists will be joining Weverse in September!

Back in April, a collaboration between SM Entertainment and HYBE Corporation was announced regarding the online platform Weverse. Now the time has come!

At the beginning of the year, HYBE Corporation, which is behind groups like BTS and TXT, was on the verge of acquiring SM Entertainment. But in a surprising twist, HYBE announced in March that it was pulling out of the planned acquisition. Instead, the two companies reached an agreement with Kakao to cooperate in the entertainment sector. Even then, SM Entertainment announced that their artists would join Weverse in the second half of the year.

Now, there is finally a date as well: on September 12, SM artists such as BoA, Super Junior, SHINee, Red Velvet, NCT and more will join the platform.

The move marks an unexpected turn in developments between the two major companies.

But what is Weverse anyway?

Weverse is a social media platform designed specifically for K-pop fans. It offers fans the opportunity to interact with their favorite artists, view exclusive content, participate in fan activities, and more. The platform was developed by Big Hit Entertainment (now HYBE Corporation). Weverse has quickly become one of the most popular platforms for K-pop fans and continues to grow steadily this year.

Which artists are already represented on Weverse?

Weverse has added many artists and groups to its network over time. In addition to artists from HYBE Corporation, including BTS, TXT or Le sserafim, artists from other companies are also represented on the platform. These include stars from many different labels, both large and small, such as Mystic Story Entertainment, YG Entertainment and now SM Entertainment.
