After Hyolyn, Viviz, Brave Girls, WJSN, Loona and Kep1er spent over two months showing off a series of breathtaking performances in the music competition Queendom, there is finally a winner!
(SPOILER WARNING)
Over three rounds, the 6 teams sang both covers and their own songs, and even teamed up with their competitors for unit performances in between. (You can watch these and other performances on Youtube.)
Yesterday, on June 2, the fourth and final round was broadcast live. There, all participants performed their brand-new song, which they had previously released on Spotify!
Hyolyn - whom some of you might still remember from her time in the girl group Sistar - opened the show with a truly royal performance of her new song "Waka Boom (My Way) (feat. Lee Young Ji)”:
Next, WJSN danced in the moonlight to “AURA”:
Third up was Kep1er, the youngest group in the competition. Fans had to worry beforehand about Main Vocal Chaehyun, because only a few hours before the finale the singer had to go to the hospital. There she was treated for sudden health problems caused by increased stress. In the finale, however, Chaehyun was there and confidently delivered a great performance of “THE GIRLS (Can’t turn me down)" with the other members:
The group's two agencies - Swing Entertainment and WAKEONE - announced that, apart from the Queendom finale, Chaehyun will cancel all other activities for the time being in order to recover. We wish her a speedy recovery!
The second half of the live show was kicked off by Viviz (formerly GFriend). The trio showed an enchanting performance of their new song “Red Sun!” with an Alice in Wonderland setting:
Shortly before the end, LOONA took the stage and showed their charisma with “Pose”:
Brave Girls, the winners of the third round, closed the show! They celebrated a beach party with the audience to their new song “Whistle”:
After all the teams had shown what they can do, it was time to wait and tremble while the votes came in and were then counted. In the end, Taeyeon of Girl’s Generation, the host of Queendom 2, announced who had won the crown: WJSN!
The girl group stayed almost consistently in 2nd place in all the previous rounds and finally caught up with the competition! A great success for the girl group, who debuted in 2016 and said of themselves at the start of the show that they are still average and don't have many hit songs. With this, WJSN has won a special comeback show from the broadcaster Mnet, which they can design themselves. Now we just have to wait until the girl group announces a new album!
The full ranking looks like this:
- 1. WJSN
- 2. Loona
- 3. Viviz
- 4. Hyolyn
- 5. Kep1er
- 6. Brave Girls
During Queendom, every group got to show what they are made of, and we can't wait to hear more from them!
Kep1er has already announced a comeback!

The rookie girl group, who debuted on January 3 with the album “First Impact”, already confirmed on May 27 that they are preparing for their first comeback in June. A few hours ago, a mood image was uploaded to the group's official Twitter account, showing a colorful summer cocktail and revealing more details: The new album is called “Doublast” and will be released on June 20!
The tweet is accompanied by the words: “A NEW BLAST is coming. What BLAST will it be?” A hint at the title of the new song? The mood image suggests that we can look forward to a cheerful summer song. That would be something completely different from what the girl group has shown us so far! We hope there will be more details soon. After all, we don't have to wait much longer, since the comeback is already taking place in less than three weeks!
Today, Loona also released a mysterious trailer on Youtube:
What could “The Journey” be about? We will surely find out soon!
