It has been known since mid-November that the biggest K-pop band in the world will release a new album on December 14! From today, you can finally pre-order “Universe” from us in the shop!
In March 2018, two years after the debut of NCT’s first subunit, “NCT 2018 Empathy” was released. It was the first NCT album recorded not just by one unit, but by all NCT members together (18 at the time). In October, the second project album “NCT Resonance Pt.1” followed, now with 23 members.
New members were introduced through both Empathy and Resonance. Kun, Lucas and Jungwoo debuted with "Empathy", Shotaro and Sungchan with "Resonance".
Now, over a year after Resonance, the different units are coming together again for a project album! Some fans expected that new members would make their debut through the album this time too, especially since a new unit called “NCT Hollywood” is already being prepared. However, these assumptions have not been confirmed. Quite the opposite: only 21 members will be involved in “Universe”, two fewer than in Resonance! Winwin and Lucas are unfortunately not part of it.
Winwin landed his first acting role in October in a Chinese series called “The Shadow”. Understandably, he will focus on this project. Of course, we are sad that Winwin will be missing from “Universe”, but we are already very much looking forward to his acting debut!
Lucas has suspended his activities since a scandal in August, and there is still no more detailed information on whether he will return to NCT in the future.
Of course, we are still very much looking forward to the new album! After all, we know that the music will be great, no matter in which constellation the members work together!
Universe
In recent days, a series of image teasers appeared on Twitter and Instagram. There, the boys show themselves in blue, gray, black and white outfits and with serious expressions.
We can already tell you, though, that besides the CD, the album will include a 240-page photo book, one of 21 stickers, one of 21 postcards, one of 21 photo cards and a folded poster. With a pre-order, a rolled poster is optionally included as well!
You can find Universe here in our shop!
Yesterday, the first video teaser for the comeback appeared on NCT’s official YouTube account. In the teaser, the boy group seems to look back at “7th Sense”, the debut song of the first unit NCT U.
In the next few days, we will surely see many more teasers, until in the end no questions remain open about the tracklist, album details and everything else.
How much are you looking forward to the new album?
