With "Queendom" a new Red Velvet album is finally on the way!

In December 2019, Red Velvet's last album as a group was released, “The ReVe Festival: Finale”. Just two days later, on December 25, member Wendy fell over two meters during the dress rehearsal for SBS television's annual "Gayo Daejun" music festival. Wendy was hospitalized with fractures to her pelvis and wrist, as well as a broken cheekbone. On the same day, their agency SM Entertainment announced that the other members of Red Velvet will continue their individual activities at other year-end shows, but will not perform as a group. The SBS team was heavily criticized by fans because the accident occurred because Wendy was sent to the stage in the dark and lost her balance because the lift she was supposed to board had not raised.
In early 2020, Joy, Yeri, Irene and Seulgi continued the "La Rouge" arena tour in Japan, which began in November 2019, without Wendy. In fact, it was quiet for a long time for Wendy as she recovered from her injuries. In July, Irene & Seulgi released their album “Monster” as Red Velvet’s first sub-unit.
Wendy only partially returned to her activities in August 2020. Together with the rest of the group, she released a cover of BoA's “Milky Way” and a soundtrack for the K-drama “Start-Up”. On January 1st, 2021, she even performed at SM Town's online concert “Culture Humanity”.
Fans were particularly happy about her solo debut with the mini album “Like Water”, which followed in April and officially signaled the end of her break. Another solo debut followed in May, because Joy released her first album “Hello”.

In June, SM Entertainment announced the news that countless fans around the world have undoubtedly been eagerly awaiting: Red Velvet is coming back with a new album in August!
In the last few days, a series of teasers have appeared on the group's official YouTube channel . As if the anticipation wasn't big enough, a shimmering logo for "Queendom" was released on Twitter yesterday.
The album will contain six songs and will be released on August 16th.
As with the recently released solo albums, there will be a photobook version and a case version of “Queendom”.

The Photobook version contains the CD, an 84-page photo book, a portrait Card , a bookmark, a photo card and optionally, only for pre-orders, a poster.
