For weeks there have been rumors and confident whispers that Lisa would soon delight her fans with a solo release, because after Jennie released her first album “Solo” in November 2018 and Rosé followed in March this year with “R”, it was clear to many that the charismatic dancer had to be next.
On August 22, the excitement was really fueled by a teaser on Twitter. Lisa can only be seen blurry, but who cares about that when we are finally about to celebrate the long-awaited solo debut?
With a new teaser, YG announced yesterday when it is finally time: On September 10, Lisa`s single album “Lalisa” will be released, one month after Blackpink's 5-year anniversary.
In the new teaser, we finally get a proper look at Lisa, and that only increases the anticipation even more. In the 5 years that have now passed since Blackpink's debut, Lisa has made it clear several times just how much influence she has. Quite a few idols call her their role model, and on Instagram she had 17.4 million followers in April 2019; more than any other K-pop idol. Two years later, in April 2021, Lisa is the only idol so far with 50 million followers.
So far, Lisa has mainly attracted attention with her dance performances and rap skills. In 2019, for example, her performance cover of Jason Derulo`s Swalla, which she performed at Blackpink's concert in Bangkok, became a viral hit. Jason Derulo himself even retweeted a fancam of her performance on Twitter!
We don't yet know what kind of music Lisa will present with her single album, which is named after her real name "Lalisa", but we can already tell you some details about the physical album!
First Single Album “Lalisa”
The wait was definitely worth it, because Lisa`s single album will be available as a photobook, kit version and vinyl!
The photobook comes in two versions - “Gold” and “Black” - each of which includes the CD, an 88-page photobook, a lyric paper, one of four photocards and one of four polaroids, all packed together in an outbox. Pre-orders also include an exclusive double-sided folded poster and one of four Rare Gold photocards. A rare golden ticket is hidden in a total of 100 albums - 50 in the Black and 50 in the Gold version!
