2024 is one big K-Pop festival, because since January one K-Pop event after another has been taking place in Germany. Before the first three months were even over, we were visited by STAYC, Everglow, xikers or The Rose, among others. And those are just a few examples. Today another highlight was announced: KCON is coming to Germany for the first time in September!
The concert season continues. Recently, for example, EXO’s Suho, AB6IX and the girl group Billlie have also announced events in Europe. But KCON has the potential to become the most exciting K-Pop concert of the year!
KCON is a Korea festival that was launched in 2012. It first took place in the USA and was meant to give American fans the chance to see K-Pop stars live and meet other fans. Since 2015, KCON has taken place several times a year and has also expanded to other countries such as Japan and Korea.
By now, KCON has visited 10 different countries, including Mexico, Australia and Thailand. In 2016, the festival came to Europe for the first time. Stars like SHINee and BTS performed in France back then! Unfortunately, it was also the last KCON in Europe for a long time. Until now!
THIS YEAR KCON IS COMING TO FRANKFURT!
On September 28 and 29, the K-Pop festival will take place in Frankfurt at the “Messe Frankfurt”.
Just a few hours ago, CJ ENM announced the new dates, thrilling German fans. CJ ENM is a South Korean media conglomerate that includes several television channels and film studios, among other things. The best known are probably the two TV channels Mnet and tvN, which regularly broadcast K-dramas and music shows.
CJ ENM announced that they will offer various programs and a big stage. With #KCONGERMANY, the company wants to create memories for fans and give them the chance to communicate with the artists they love so much.
In January, KCON even opened a European Twitter account. So there is hope that we will get to experience more concerts like this in Europe in the coming years!
This year, KCON has already visited Hong Kong and Japan. In July it continues in the USA and in September in Germany! In Hong Kong, the line-up over two days consisted of Aespa, ATEEZ, BOYNEXTDOOR, Highlight, TWS, WayV, Xikers, Yena, Viviz, Day6, JO1, Sistar19, Tempest and ZEROBASEONE.
Do you wish for these stars in the line-up in Germany too? Which other artists would you like to see on stage? Tell us!
