JYP Entertainment debuts new girl band in 2022
South Korean entertainment agency JYP Entertainment is ready to unveil another fresh talent after already launching popular bands like TWICE, Wonder Girls and more. Who exactly it is and all the details are still unknown - so it remains exciting!
The agency was founded in 1997 and is one of the most renowned agencies in South Korea. Currently, JYP manages several groups and solo artists, such as 2PM and Stray Kids.
On July 8, JYP released a mysterious teaser , and on July 9, after widespread curiosity, they revealed that they are a new girl group - the first new girl group in three years since ITZY's debut in 2019. The band will debut in February 2022, but an exact date is not yet known, nor is the name of the band.
The title of the teaser “Blind Package” describes pretty much everything that is connected to the girl band, you have to get involved with the band blindly. The way of promoting the new band with a concert is also something completely new. In addition, the debut single will only be available to a limited extent. You will be able to pre-order it from July 16th - 25th, no reproduction is planned.
You can already tell, a completely new concept - as the title suggests, “It’s not an ordinary package, It’s extraordinary!”. Go for it, you definitely won't regret it!
The new group will be led by JYP Entertainment's Division 4, led by Lee Ji Young, the company's first female general manager.
The debut single consists of the CD, a photobook, a photocard, a poster, a randomly selected Polaroid and a premium membership card. The membership card goes into a draw and the lucky winner can then take part in the event after the debut.
