On May 6, 2021, EXO fans had to say goodbye to main vocalist Baekhyun, who began his military service that day. Because of his underactive thyroid, he was assigned to public service. This meant that his service lasted 21 months instead of the usual minimum of 18 months.
On February 5, Baekhyun finally returned from the military!
To celebrate his return, he announced a livestream at 8 PM Korean time on February 6. (12 PM in Europe.) Yesterday, Baekhyun turned to his fans on Twitter and told them that he is nervous and excited. Did you watch the livestream?
After having to wait for him for so long, we are all the happier now that Baekhyun is back!
With him, six of the EXO members have now completed their military service: Xiumin, Suho, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol and D.O.
Kai and Sehun still have their service ahead of them.
Since Kai is already 29 years old and Sehun 28, it probably won't be long before they begin their service. At least we don't have to say goodbye to Lay. Since he is Chinese, he of course doesn't have to go into the military.
But before we get sad that Kai and Sehun will soon be gone for a while, there is first a reason to be happy!
According to leader Suho, a comeback is supposed to take place in spring; the first album with the whole group in more than four years! Several albums have been released in recent years - Don’t Fight the Feeling, Obsession and Love Shot - but Don’t Mess Up My Tempo (November 2018) is so far the last one with all nine members. How much are you looking forward to the comeback? We'll of course keep you updated!
