At the end of 2022, we put together predictions for the year 2023 and shared them with you. Among other things, we hoped that, like last year, groups from the second K-pop generation would return. After all, in 2022 both SNSD and Kara celebrated their 15th anniversary with a new album! It was SNSD's first album in five years and Kara's first in eight years.
And sure enough, two more groups who haven't been on stage together for a long time recently announced a comeback: Infinite & U-Kiss!
Both groups come from the second K-pop generation. The second generation includes all groups that debuted from 2003 to 2012. U-Kiss debuted in 2008 and Infinite in 2010.
You can find all the details about the planned activities here:
Infinite
It has been over five years since Infinite last stood on stage together. Back then, in January 2018, they promoted their third studio album “Top Seed” including the title track “Tell Me”. The song won five music show trophies!
In 2019, a digital single called “Clock” was released by five of the six members. Leader Sunggyu was in the military at the time. Since then, all six members have left Woollim Entertainment and looked for new agencies. Since August 2022, all of them have also completed their military service.
On May 6, a video titled “It’s INFINITE’s TIME now” appeared on YouTube under a new YouTube channel for Infinite.
It seems the boy group has planned new projects for their 13th anniversary! In fact, at the beginning of the year Sunggyu founded a new label called “INFINITE Company” and, according to rumors, was transferred the rights to the name “Infinite” and more from Woollim Entertainment.
The info section of the new YouTube channel lists the names of all six members, so we can assume that they are all involved in the new project.
We hope the boy group is preparing a new album and can't wait to see them reunited!
U-Kiss
In our predictions, we speculated about a U-Kiss comeback in 2023, because the boy group is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, just like SNSD and Kara last year. These hopes were recently confirmed when U-Kiss shared a poster on Twitter.

It shows Soohyun, Hoon and Kiseop as well as three empty microphone stands. The poster announces two digital solo singles, a mini album and a concert in Japan! The solo singles will be released by Hoon and Soohyun, and six members are involved in the mini album!
Who the other three members are has not been confirmed yet. Since there are six former members, the choice is wide. Currently, U-Kiss officially consists of only four members: Soohyun, Hoon, Kiseop and Jun. It is of course natural to assume that Jun is also involved in the album.
The boy group last released the Japanese album “Glory” in December 2018. The last Korean music was a digital single titled “Ready for U”, which came out in December 2017. Since then, Soohyun, Jun, Kevin and Hoon have released individual singles as units.
How excited are you for new music from U-Kiss?
