So many new K-dramas air every year that you can hardly keep count anymore. We have seen quite a lot ourselves and there are still so many that we don't know yet, even though they came out years ago. Is it the same for you? In this article, we introduce four of our favorite K-dramas that you absolutely have to watch if you don't know them yet! They are also perfect for getting started if you haven't seen any Korean series yet and are wondering where to begin:
Vagabond
When 10-year-old Cha Hoon dies in a plane crash, the world falls apart for his uncle Cha Dalgun, and a dramatic adventure begins.
While Dalgun mourns his nephew in Morocco, where the plane crashed, he meets a man who was also on the plane and should actually be dead. Dalgun realizes that there is more behind the crash than a simple malfunction and decides to get to the bottom of it. In doing so, he puts his own life in danger! Together with the NIS agent Go Haeri, he keeps digging to find out the truth and avenge his nephew!
Be warned: the ending of Vagabond doesn't give the story a proper conclusion and still leaves fans of the series hoping for a sequel today.
Despite the open ending, we don't regret watching Vagabond, because the cool action scenes and the chemistry between Suzy and Lee Seunggi are worth it!
Cast:
- Lee Seunggi plays Cha Dalgun
- Bae Suzy plays Go Haeri
Hospital Playlist
Anyone who works in a hospital takes responsibility every day for the well-being of countless patients. So you might think things are rather serious there, but thanks to these five friends there is also plenty to laugh about! Lee Ikjun, Ahn Jeongwon, Kim Junwan, Yang Seokhyeong and Chae Songhwa studied medicine together and now all work in the same hospital! Even though they are busy with their work, they always find time to tease each other and help one another. Once a week, they manage to have dinner together. On that one evening, there is also a regular band practice. The five are not only good friends, but also a great band! In every episode, the band covers a song whose mood fits the current plot.
The series aired in 2020 and is currently ranked 14th among the K-dramas with the highest ratings in the history of cable television! Unfortunately, there were only 12 episodes, but a second season was made, which was just as well received! Along the way, they discover their feelings for each other! Meanwhile, the long-term relationship of their two best friends Kim Jooman and Baek Seolhee is put to the test!
