The Korean label JYP Entertainment has already announced some time ago that an American group will be created in the future. Today, a video was finally released on the label's Youtube channel, officially announcing the "A2K" project!
In the video, Park Jinyoung (founder and chairman of JYP Entertainment) and Monte Lipman (founder and CEO of Republic Records) talk about the big project. Republic Records is known for working with international stars like Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, and the Jonas Brothers.
A2K is an acronym for "America To Korea"
Auditions for the project are scheduled to take place in September in five American cities - Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Dallas and Los Angeles. Girls aged 12- 16 who want to be a part of the new global girl group can showcase their talent there. Park Jinyoung himself will be present at the auditions! The core of the project is to train American talents like K-Pop Idols to create a new super group!
Those who pass the audition will be invited to LA. There, a selection will be made again and the girls who advance will train for a while in Korea under JYP Entertainment. The final winners will then debut in America!
Already, hopeful talents can apply for the project on A2K's homepage !
We can't wait to see what kind of girl group will be created through the collaboration of JYP and Republic Records!
