The Korean label JYP Entertainment announced some time ago that an American group is to be created in the future. Today, a video was finally released on the label's Youtube channel, officially announcing the project “A2K”!
In the video, Park Jinyoung (founder and chairman of JYP Entertainment) and Monte Lipman (founder and CEO of Republic Records) talk about the big project. Republic Records is known for working with international stars such as Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift and the Jonas Brothers.
A2K is an abbreviation for “America To Korea”
In September, auditions for the project are to take place in five American cities - Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Dallas and Los Angeles. Girls aged 12- 16 who want to be part of the new global girl group can show their talent there. Park Jinyoung will personally be present at the auditions! The core of the project is to train American talents like K-Pop Idols and thus create a new supergroup!
Whoever passes the audition will be invited to LA. There, another selection will be made and the girls who advance will train in Korea under JYP Entertainment for a while. The final winners will then debut in America!
