It's finally here! Less than an hour ago, Chanyeol officially released his first mini album “Black Out”, officially kicking off his solo career. To celebrate the day, let's take a closer look at the album!
Chanyeol debuted in April 2012 as a rapper in the boy group EXO under SM Entertainment. In 2014, he presented his first solo song “Delight” on the live album “Exology Chapter 1: The Lost Planet”. More singles followed, such as “Tomorrow” for SM Station Season 4 or “Good Enough”. Since 2016, he has also played leading roles in films and series such as “So I Married an Anti-fan”, “Missing 9” and “Memories of the Alhambra”.
CHANYEOL (EXO) - BLACK OUT (THE 1ST MINI ALBUM)
Today Chanyeol is celebrated not only for his talent as a rapper and actor, but also for his deep, soft voice. Fans have waited a long time for an album of Chanyeol's own, and now, 12 years after his debut with EXO, this dream is finally coming true.
In our shop you'll find four different versions of the album: the two photobook versions “Day” and “Night”, as well as the Special version and the SMini version.
It contains six songs: “Black Out”, “Hasta La Vista”, “Ease Up”, “Back Again”, “I’m On Your Side Too” and “Clover”. The whole album stands out for its strong instrumentals and rocky sound.
“Black Out” begins with a calm guitar melody. The tempo picks up quickly, but the song stays melancholic. Chanyeol sings about how his life turns black without you. The traffic lights are broken, his life is a mess and he feels alone.
When will you listen to the song? We think it's the perfect song for an evening walk or a drive through the city at night.
A music video for the song “Back Again” is also set to be released on September 6.

Chanyeol is already the eighth member of EXO to debut solo. Lay started a solo career back in 2016, and every few years another member followed his example. By now, everyone except Sehun has established themselves as solo artists and even perform at international festivals or hold their own world tours.
IVE released their second Japanese mini album “ALIVE” today!
