BTS J-Hope surprises with new single before military service!

If you follow BTS on Twitter and Weverse, you may have already heard the news, but if not, we'll bring you up to speed:

J-Hope is starting his military service in the near future!

Ever since Jin announced his service, we knew that we would soon have to say goodbye to the other members for a while as well. So now the time has come. BIGHIT MUSIC told us the following in a statement on Weverse yesterday:

"We would like to inform fans that J-Hope has begun the process of enlisting in the military by requesting that his deferred enlistment be terminated."

Previously, BTS members had requested to defer their military service. All idols can do that until they are 30. The fact that J-Hope withdrew this request means that he is ready to start his service very soon. The rapper is the third oldest member of BTS.

The guess is that the second oldest Suga will follow next, or RM, who was born seven months after J-Hope.

Fortunately, this doesn't mean that we now have to wait 18 months or more for something new from J-Hope. In fact, he announced a new single on Twitter yesterday!

It's called "on the street" and will be released already on March 3 at 2pm Korean time. European fans can listen to the song already in the morning because of the different time zones. "on the street" is the first new song from J-Hope since his solo debut with the album "Jack in the Box" in July 2022.
